The analytics bug has finally bitten the Indian corporate sector. While demand for analytics talent has always been high in India, it has largely been fuelled by the KPO sector so far. Companies like Genpact, MuSigma and Accenture employ thousands of data scientists who provide analytics expertise to clients around the world.
However, in the last 18 months, we are seeing the emergence of a new trend. While the demand for analytics talent is as high as ever, it is now being driven by Indian businesses as much as the KPOs.
Indian companies are adopting analytics
Banks and financial services have been the first ones to adopt analytics in India. Companies like ICICI, HDFC, Bajaj Allianz and many others have been using analytics to run their businesses better.
