In Session with PGPDM Batch 2

The weekend saw the PGPDM Bangalore (Batch 2) students in their second contact class. If you remember, this batch of students have recently kicked off their PGPDM journey.

The Postgraduate Program in Data Science & Machine Learning (PGPDM) is a highly specialized learning program for aspiring analytics enthusiasts crafted by Jigsaw Academy and University of Chicago Graham School, with IBM as the corporate partner. Geared towards building an elite bunch of technology professionals in India, this program offers intensive training in the areas of Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Visualization, and Project Management.

In what was an exciting classroom session, the students got hands on with R programming as applied to Data Science with our resident faculty Gunnvant Saini and on Data Visualization with Dipyaman Sanyal, Program Director, PGPDM.

The eclectic bunch of students ranged from absolute freshers to people with lots of industry experience. For example, Rohit Dev is a final year engineering student who has taken up this course with the intent of becoming a Data Scientist. He is aware of the potential of this and wants to have an edge over his fellow students when he sits for placements. And then we have Uma Perumal who is a Banking industry veteran with 20+ years of experience. Currently the Director at Bank of Singapore in Dubai, Uma has enrolled in the PGPDM to apply Data Science and Machine Learning techniques to her domain. She flew down for the weekend just to attend the in-person classroom session.

Keep watching this space for more updates on all things PGPDM.
